aaye..................... the first panel is emma's, and the second is one someone made for her, after her death?

whoa. that first one is fiendish. we know she was in the scene but that one is not one i'd ever be able to look past in my kid's stuff.

    how'd you get these, claudi?

No shit. Well. Hah. Wow. Every once in a while I get a vision of this scene as an underground train that was running out of control for a long while before anything happened on the surface.

Well, I wouldn't say it means that by any stretch of the imagination. Young girls, esp in her world, say stuff like that all the time. That's different from looking to be killed.

To me it's more in the realm of fate, or prescience. (prescience... is that how you spell that??)

Seems like young Emma was very troubled - before she wore the SKR charm and was still into hatchetman. Wonder how old she is in that picture. She seems very sexual and dark. I can't help but wonder what kind of damage was done to her to send her in this direction. You know I watch too much Dr. Drew - but sexual molestation of some sort comes to mind.

That is a deep hatred towards her parents, towards anything light or good and towards herself imo.

Could that be why Mark was out of the house? He also drank a lot when she was young IIRC. Possible. Such things happen more than we all want to admit, sadly.

When he was drinking he could have done psychological damage without ever having molested or touched her at all. Really there could be a lot of things that caused her to be that way. Unless we had a chance to talk to one of her really close friends I don't think we would ever know. Someone she had grown up with would probably be able to explain a lot.

He was supposedly sober while Emma was growing up. I think this goes much deeper and it wouldn't necessarily have to be Mark, but typically there is some damage that makes a girl feel like she is not worth anything, not loved, unlovable and for her to rebel so heavily against God - that's pretty major for a girl so young who has two parents, mom and dad (has not been abandoned by one of them). I think it's more than just a dad who drinks too much.

...thank you pixy,i knew you'd have some good input on those,i think i saw the picture of her on her vampire freak page as well,i can't find that page anymore but i'll keep searching,at least i remember pictures of her on there with the same hairstyle and color...pixy,do you know anything about the second quote?...is it from a song as well?....also Emma seems to have a cut on her left arm,(could be a cat stratch or something) but do you think it's possible she was cutting?...I do believe she must have went through some type of trauma beyond being a rebellious teen in a very small town, but if her dad would relapse from time to time I think even though it doesn't sound like much it can traumatize a kid badly especially when the family portrayed themselves as being "perfect" to th outside world.I wished we'd know why debra and mark split up in the first place....

    Lenore
    E.A. Poe

Ah, broken is the golden bowl! the spirit flown forever!
Let the bell toll! -a saintly soul floats on the Stygian river -
And, Guy De Vere, hast thou no tear? -weep now or never more!
See! on yon drear and rigid bier low lies thy love, Lenore!
Come! let the burial rite be read -the funeral song be sung! -
An anthem for the queenliest dead that ever died so young -
A dirge for her, the doubly dead in that she died so young.

"Wretches! ye loved her for her wealth and hated her for her pride,
And when she fell in feeble health, ye blessed her -that she died!
How shall the ritual, then, be read? -the requiem how be sung
By you -by yours, the evil eye, -by yours, the slanderous tongue
That did to death the innocence that died, and died so young?"

Peccavimus; but rave not thus! and let a Sabbath song
Go up to God so solemnly the dead may feel no wrong!
The sweet Lenore hath "gone before," with Hope, that flew beside,
Leaving thee wild for the dear child that should have been thy bride -
For her, the fair and debonnaire, that now so lowly lies,
The life upon her yellow hair but not within her eyes -
The life still there, upon her hair -the death upon her eyes.

Avaunt! tonight my heart is light. No dirge will I upraise,
But waft the angel on her flight with a paean of old days!
Let no bell toll! -lest her sweet soul, amid its hallowed mirth,
Should catch the note, as it doth float up from the damned Earth.
To friends above, from fiends below, the indignant ghost is riven -
From Hell unto a high estate far up within the Heaven -
From grief and groan to a golden throne beside the King of Heaven."

    ....and oh my god,it's beautiful...
I wonder if emma grieved the loss of innocence...or if she had an actual death wish.....
or if that grief caused her to want to die?

    thanks blou !
But how did she stumble onto that phrase and have it stick in her mind.
"queenliest dead that ever died so young" so no wonder it wasn't making sense to me when I was trying to read it.

Poe was from Richmond and she lived in a college town. Not saying that's how, but living around lots of college connected people exposes yo to things yo might not otherwise have found. I can't remember where, but I recall seeing "queenliest dead" come up early on when I started following the case. I think it was someone's myspace name or something like that. It could have been one of Emma's.

yes I recall her calling herself the "queenliest" but I didn't remember it in relation to death or dying for some reason.I don't remember where I saw it before.
I'm reading the german poem about Lenore now that pre-dated the poe version wich seems much more relevant to Emma.....The girl's fiancee is away during war and Leonor curses god and wishes to die...in the end her fiancee comes back as a ghost and takes her to death with him, their honeymoon suite is a coffin....the poem is about blasphemy and its consequences....
