the science project was done by my son and i. and i believe we used pothos ivy. and it's true, the vibrations is what was felt. i wonder if the neighbors remeber hearing the different noises at 5:30 am every morning. it probably was quite coincidental, as to the lack of growth, or it could have been to a certain type of music, one can never really tell with the variables. we didn't let the plants die on purpose, cause i love plants and i would have had a cow if they just killed over. it was fun. every plant was given same amount of water, had to use a temp guage to keep it at the same level. we had tons of potho ivies, and to this day, i have a few that have survived these years since his elementary years. i can see your points too, and as far as i am concerned, if the plants can keep living while i sing all out of tune on top of my lungs, then all power to them!
and one time in my teaching years, we had a lovely white rat with red eyes. she lived longer than expected for a rat. the students named her: miss nicky. and she was so special and got to roam through many desks while we were in class. when she died, we buried her behind our school annex, and each student spoke about her and stuff. we had permission of course. and it was beautiful. a good lesson for the kids, and they shed tears and it was alright. i have had rabbits in my first years of teaching, and had a gerbil and a hamster.
i love reading everyone's input. glad to see yall here and chatting it up!
