I'm just going to generalize that most people go to horror movies and read scary novels because they like to get scared a bit. It's a short-term thrill that's safer to engage in than say...bungee jumping. People love the rush - because most of us don't face that kind of danger in our modern lives. Perhaps there is some primal need to feel it; to still relate to that intense fear; to go to it because it doesn't come to us. True some people love horror movies but they don't live their lives with those movies at the core of their belief system - they like the way it makes them feel more alive in the moment of fear. I think it is the same reason people engage in high risk activities, but the salad or light beer version.
Horrorcore is a sub-culture where the lives of the people who are into this REVOLVE around the who, what, when and where of these "artists" and any subject matter that is truly grotesque by wearing the jewelry and dressing to conform ,or more likely, to tell the world "fuck you, this is WHO I AM".
They wear their ugliness as a badge of honor. They idolize real killers, not make believe hockey mask wearing ones. And I firmly believe they are into Satanism as a way to justify how they've decided to live their lives. It is obvious they blame others for who they are and find their power in being so disgusting that they punish those who've hurt them. The genre is an outlet for their anger and therein lies the difference for me. When others who feel the same way feed their minds with that anger, that destruction of others to preserve self, they become empowered to amp up the attitude of "fuck you, you made me who I am, so who are you to judge me? And by the way watch how really sick and disgusting I can be" and they use their so-called music to put it "in your face" so to speak.
I don't see that intent with a movie or novel. It's just a really scary story. It's not punishment or payback. I do not believe it is as big an influence.
I admit there can be no criminal cuplability to artists for their music, but that doesn't mean a negative effect on people or their actions doesn't exist.
That kind of punishment or payback only comes back on them but I don't think they can see it throught their rage. Raz hints to it in that song.
I think she feels so painted into a corner. She was made to feel like a worthless piece of flesh, so she allowed herself to become that and then embraced it to lessen the hurt by overpowering it with anger. Now that she's told the world how awful and sick she is and how proud she is of her wicked self, she will never be allowed to heal the hurt person inside (I kind of get that from her song; I almost sense a smidge of shame). Someone put her in that box, then she embraced it, then she commercialized it and now there's no turning back.
We've all been pushed to a point of hurt that causes us to lash out and want to hurt others. I think that is the basis for the music. I don't see that as a basis for horror movies and books.
Deep in my heart I don't believe she really enjoys being treated like a whore. I think Shirm probably makes her feel good about herself because he doesn't judge and he protects her in that way so she is with him, but I'll bet money that there's a girl inside her that wishes she had real love and respect. She knows it exists, but she's never had it. Being angry about that is what created "Razakel".
Having said that and listened to those songs, I now believe that original artwork could have been about her...the ragdoll was her former self. You can see in earlier pictures she wore more ragdoll-ish clothing. The heads were HER parents and the fetus is her never wanting to have children or maybe portraying that she never should have been born according to her parents. She transformed herself into this wicked bxtch to deal with it, over power it, control it.
Crap I'm rambling. What thread am I in? Lol.

I just don't understand how this is allowed? Seems to glorify the "acts" of horrorcore, to me.
Big Lurch, X Raided (Nefarious), Syko Sam.
